Explore Hawaii’s Underwater World at the Maui Ocean Center
Maui Ocean Center, also known as the Aquarium of Hawaii, is the perfect place to learn about the relationship that exists between Hawaiians and the sea. The aquarium is home to native species like sharks, jellyfish, sea turtles, and fish. It even features the largest collection of live Pacific corals. Feel free to stroll through the aquarium on your own (a self-guided tour takes about two hours) or sign up for a Behind the Scenes Tour lead by an ocean naturalist. You’ll get an up-close look at what it takes to care for the animals, learn about Hawaiian culture, and assist with feeding at Turtle Lagoon and Nursery Bay. Guided tours are available daily at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Local Tip: Check the aquarium website for coupons, discounts, and packages to help you save on admission!
